Tamara is a Charlotte native who attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. While at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she studied Psychology and was later employed as an Executive Assistant to Deans with the Undergraduate Education Department and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Tamara also has a background in Human Resources and with the Department of Social Services where she was an advocate for families and children in the system. 

Tamara currently lives right outside of Charlotte in Huntersville, North Carolina with her husband John and daughter Jasmyne. She also has an adult son Johnathan, daughter in law Taylor, and twin grandchildren. She enjoys shopping, traveling, cooking and most of all spending time with family.
