Erin Banks, Ph.D.

Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

  • Erin received a Ph.D. in Community Psychology from North Carolina State University (NCSU). She also has a Masters in Community Psychology and Bachelors of Arts degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Florida A&M University.Erin joins the team at Helping Education after having served as the Assistant Dean for the inaugural Office of Undergraduate Research at the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC). She has experience working with research programs such as the US Department of Education Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN Program), the National Institutes of Health Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity Program and the Florida A&M University Graduate Feeder Program. She has worked over twenty years to help increase the number of underrepresented minority students enrolling and graduating with graduate-level degrees. She also has experience in program evaluation and research involving health disparities and psychosocial issues. She is an Adjunct Faculty member at NCSU in the Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies program and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at UNC Charlotte. She brings extensive experience in the areas of civic and community engaged research and continues to provide access to high impact practices to students in the academy.
